The Mysore Palace, built in the Indo-Saracenic style with domes, turrets, arches and intricate sculptures of the Hoysala Dynasty, is one of the must-visit places in Mysore. Renovated in 1912 (after being burnt down in 1897), this world-famous palace is illuminated by over a million bulbs on Sundays and on public holidays. There is also a museum situated on the grounds, which exhibits a magnificent assortment of belongings of the royal family. The palace and the museum are open to public from 10.30 AM to 5.30 PM.
